Code of Conduct

Link Education is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. We takes every reasonable precaution to ensure that staff provided to its clients maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct.

Dress – As professionals’ teachers / support staff you are expected to dress accordingly. If a school has a specific standard we will advise you prior to the assignment starting. Many schools are multi-cultural and inappropriate dress can give offence.

Punctuality – It is expected that all staff arrive at the school premises no later than 8:15 am for assignments booked in advance (unless otherwise advised) or at an agreed time in the case of assignments organised that day. If you realise that you are going to be delayed you need to phone Link Education immediately so we can keep the school aware at all times.

Curriculum – When on assignment, teach the work that has been provided by the school. However there may be occasions when this isn’t the case so always go prepared with lesson plans that are compatible with the Curriculum and the age and ability of the pupils. Primary teachers are expected to mark the work covered during the day in line with the schools marking policy. Secondary teachers should follow school directions regarding completed work.

School Rules & Policies – Teachers / Support Staff must arrive promptly for lessons allowing enough time to familiarize themselves with school’s rules, policies, customs and procedures.

Beware - Serious disciplinary situations should be reported to the Head Teacher, Deputy Head without delay. Physical contact should be avoided except where appropriate i.e. in case of injury. Inappropriate contact with children will lead to the termination of your agreement with Link Education and could result in criminal prosecution.

Keep in Contact- Meeting the expectations of schools and staff is achieved largely by the feedback we receive so keep in contact. Do let us know as soon as possible if a school asks you to extend your assignment. If for whatever reason you are unable to continue please let us know as someone else may welcome the opportunity.

Internet Use - Teachers / Support Staff should never access school PC’s or laptops for their personal use.

End of Day - When an assignment has been completed you are required to leave notes on what work you have covered.

I just wanted to write this letter to say thank you for giving me the confidence and opportunity to go back into teaching. Having not activley taught for four years after taking maternity leave I wasn't sure if I would be confident enough to go back especially with the introdution of the new primary frameworks and interactive whiteboards. However, the schools you placed me with were really supportive and the encouragement you gave soon got my confidence back and after the first few assignments I felt like I had never been away. I have enjoyed all of my assignments.I really appreciated the time you took to listen about the age range I wanted to work with, that I only wanted to start by doing two days a week and that I did not want to travel too far from home. I would most definitely recommend working for Link Education not only because as employers I thought you were very professional and friendly, but also for schools looking to employ agency staff I think you would do the utmost to ensure you had the most suitable person available.
