We have a large number of tutors available throughout the age ranges and subject areas.  We do try and get the tutors close to the student’s home to make it easier on both parties.  If no tutor is available at the given time we will keep your requirements and let you know in due course when a suitable tutor becomes available.

Do the tutors bring resources?
If the student has texts they wish to work from the tutor can take direction from this and they will also come with their own ideas to support the students learning.

Where will the learning take place?
In the home or at school depending on school based tuition or home tuition.  We do expect another adult to be present if the student is under 18 years of age.

Why is the Quality Mark important to me?
The Quality Mark (QM) is a department of the DfES which sets down standards for all teaching agencies and LEA’s.  We are externally audited and have to meet stringent procedures of professional practice.  For tutors, parents and students it is important that an agency or LEA has the QM so you have a back up from a governing body with regards standards of practice, pay and conditions etc.

What is the G.T.C?
General Teaching Council, all teachers who hold QTS must register each year to be able to teach in state schools in England.

What support is given to tutors and students and/or parents?
We make sure that all parties have settled after the initial tutoring session.  We speak to all parties throughout the sessions and if there is anything that needs resolving we will endeavour to do this. We are always around during the day to speak to and on an emergency basis in the evening until 8 pm.

How does the process of tutors being paid work?
Teacher’s responsibility to get timesheets authorised by the client and a copy must be returned to Link Education before payroll processing date (generally Monday before Friday’s pay day).  Timesheets can be posted, faxed or scanned and emailed.   We will pay you but if late will be paid in next pay run.

How do the charges work for tutoring sessions?
All sessions must be pre-booked and each session paid for before Link Education will assign a tutor to the student.  There are holiday periods allowed and if a session needs to be cancelled due to illness etc... the payment will be accrued to a future week.

What time can we call you?
From 9am – 8pm.  At the weekend calls are picked up Saturday and Sunday and returned as soon as possible.

How do you know what tutors suit the student?
We endeavour to send tutors who match the skill set of the students’ requirements; this is achieved by maintaining close relations and gaining feedback on tutors to gain an understanding of the progress being made.
