Interim HLTA – South London
Our SEN school client based in the Woolwich area are currently seeking an inspiring and experienced interim HLTA for a long-term basis until the end of the academic year.
You will become part of an enthusiastic team, working in a nurturing and academically successful environment with outstanding facilities. The school is committed to developing its pupils and staff to achieve their full potential.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, adapting strategies to promote engagement and progress.
- Assist with planning and assessment alongside teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Be confident working with students who have a range of SEND
- Support behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and positive communication.
- Model excellent practice and guide other support staff where required.
- Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
The Person
- HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience delivering lessons/cover).Strong understanding of SEN strategies, particularly around ASD and SEMH
- Confident, adaptable, and able to take initiative.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- A calm, resilient and supportive approach.
