About the Role
A supportive and inclusive SEN college in Bromley is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Lecturer to join their team on a long-term basis. This role involves working with post-16 learners with a range of additional needs, supporting them in developing academic, vocational, and life skills to prepare for adulthood.
This is a full teaching role, requiring planning, preparation, assessment, and a strong focus on individual learning pathways, independence, and employability skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to learners with SEN
- Plan, prepare, and assess in line with individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes
- Support learners in developing independence, communication, and life skills
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of needs, including ASD, MLD, and complex needs
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and track learner progress, providing regular feedback
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and curriculum leads
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and reports
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Experience working with learners with SEN, ideally in a post-16 or college setting
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and person-centred planning
- A flexible, patient, and proactive approach
- Ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs
- Commitment to supporting learners’ progression into adulthood
