Experienced SEND TA – Orpington

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in the Orpington area, seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils on a day-to-day supply basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the school’s daily requirements.

Key requirements:

  • Experience of supporting children with autism and speech and language needs including delivering speech therapy
  • Be fully committed to the role of working with a child with additional needs on a 1:1 basis and delivering support as outlined in individual support plans.
  • Have the skills to support and differentiate the learning, social interaction and welfare of individual pupils with a range of needs.
  • Support the class teacher to provide the best opportunities and outcomes for the child.
  • Keep records and observations of selected children to enable staff to plan appropriate next steps
  • Be motivated, flexible and understanding
