Full Time Teaching Assistant – Maidstone


We are currently working with a small village Primary School is located in Maidstone. Our client is seeking to appoint a committed, full time Teaching Assistant to be part of their dedicated team and support their wonderful children.

This school is is a unique, small voluntary controlled Primary School for 4-11 year olds, located in the heart of the Kent countryside in Maidstone, Kent. The classrooms are spacious and very well-resourced and their grounds are extensive and equally well resourced. They pride themselves on being an inclusive school where learning is enjoyed and children are engaged and happy.

The successful candidate will be involved in supporting the whole class, undertaking small group interventions (in and outside of the classroom) and may work 1:1 with some children. The post will involve some lunchtime supervision (giving you the opportunity to engage with all our inspirational children).

Our client is looking for that special someone who is passionate, caring, highly motivated and has a good sense of humour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback to the teacher
  • Support pupils to understand instructions support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
  • Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.

The Ideal Candidate – Qualifications & Experience:

  • You must have a good level of English and maths.
  • Previous experience of supporting/working with children would be advantageous.
  • You must be a quick learners, can adapt to change and think on your feet.
  • Someone who is passionate, caring, highly motivated and has a good sense of humour.
