SEN Teacher – Rochester


We are currently working with a School located in Rochester who are seeking a committed, creative and effective SEN teacher who has a passion for working with children to join their team.

This school is currently seeking an inspirational and highly motivated SEN Teacher with a positive nature and a sense of humour.

Knowledge of working with children on the autistic spectrum and experience of working within the specialist education sector is preferable for this role.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team delivering individualised curricula which provides children with appropriate opportunities to make outstanding progress in every aspect of their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a safe, organised and stimulating environment that fosters curiosity, independence and celebrates pupils’ achievements.
  • To take responsibility for the progress of all pupils in the class.
  • Set clear targets for pupils’ learning, building on prior attainment, and ensuring pupils are aware of the substance and purpose of what they are asked to do
  • To adhere to all school Safeguarding policies and procedure and to be familiar with and support the aims, ethos and policies of the school
  • Work closely with parents and carers for the benefit of the children

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within a classroom
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive learning environment and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
