Learning Support Assistant – Bromley
We are currently seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our secondary schools in Bromley on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and development, working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored assistance both in the classroom and during individual or small group sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive school environment. Applicants should have relevant experience working with secondary school students, be reliable, and possess a genuine commitment to student welfare and progress.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have a genuine interest in working with upper-key stage students.
- Are passionate about creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for secondary students.
- Understand safeguarding and have a confident understanding of safeguarding practices.
- Possess relevant qualifications: Qualifications in Supporting Learning are preferred, but highly experienced, unqualified learning support assistants are also welcome.
- Are confident in supporting the learning of individual students and groups.
- Have experience supporting SEN children and managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
Candidate Requirements:
- Curriculum knowledge: A good understanding of the secondary school curriculum.
- Enhanced DBS: Must have a valid Enhanced DBS check registered with the DBS Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
- Professionalism: Must be professional, reliable, and punctual.
- Proof of qualifications: Provide proof of qualifications or copies of certificates.
- Classroom experience: Experience working in the UK secondary classroom environment.
- Safeguarding understanding: A confident understanding of safeguarding and safe practices in a school environment.
- Upper-key stage experience: Experience working with upper-key stage students.
