SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Bexleyheath

We are currently working with a primary school located in Bexleyheath who are seeking a committed SEN Speech and Language Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has a passion for working with children.

This school is currently seeking an inspirational and highly motivated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term maternity cover to start in November, with a positive nature and a sense of humour.

Experience working with SEN students within the specialist education sector is preferable for this role.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team which provides children with appropriate opportunities to make outstanding progress in every aspect of their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish a safe, organised and stimulating environment that fosters curiosity, independence and celebrates pupils’ achievements.
• To adhere to all school Safeguarding policies and procedure and maintain high standards of safety and observe good practice in relation to health and safety issues.
• To be aware of and implement students’ care plans and to assist the students’ in their learning and development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or Teaching Assistant qualification
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
• Experience working with SEN students within a classroom
• Strong classroom skills with the ability to create a positive learning environment and excellent communication skills
