SEN Teaching Assistant – Greenwich

Are you experienced in supporting children with special educational needs?
We are actively recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a range of supportive and inclusive primary schools across Greenwich.

These rewarding roles offer the chance to make a lasting impact on pupils with additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and speech & language difficulties.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs
  • Assisting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language, and other learning needs
  • Supporting access to the curriculum through tailored learning strategies
  • Assisting with behaviour management and implementing support plans
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external agencies
  • Helping with personal care or mobility needs (where required)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN in a school, nursery or care setting
  • Understanding of Autism strategies, sensory needs, PECs, Makaton, or visual timetables (desirable)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to challenging situations
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, or equivalent is a bonus
