Vacancy Title: Sociology Teacher – Maternity Cover

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our secondary schools for an inspirational and experienced Sociology Teacher to cover KS3, KS4, and KS5 on a maternity contract.

The successful candidate will be expected to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons, assess student progress, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Sociology curriculum. The school has a modern, forward-thinking ethos and demonstrates outstanding student behaviour across all year groups.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons in line with the curriculum

• Inspire and motivate students to reach their full academic potential

• Assess, track, and report on student progress effectively

• Develop engaging teaching materials and resources

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to department improvement

• Participate in school events, meetings, and training as required

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience delivering Sociology at KS3, KS4 & KS5

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Proven track record of positive student outcomes

• A degree in Sociology or a related subject
