Nursery Assistants – Morden

About the Role

As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily care and development of children in our nursery. Your responsibilities will include assisting with feeding, changing, engaging children in creative and educational activities, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and spending time outdoors for play and learning. This role is perfect for individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of young children by fostering a warm, stimulating, and nurturing setting.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting qualified nursery practitioners with the daily running of the nursery

• Engaging with children in age-appropriate activities that promote development and learning

• Assisting with personal care routines such as feeding and changing

• Helping maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery environment

• Supervising children during outdoor play and learning sessions

• Observing and reporting on children’s progress and behaviours to senior staff

• Adhering to all safeguarding policies and ensuring a safe space for children

Ideal Candidate

• Passionate about working with children and supporting their early development

• Patient, caring, and reliable with a genuine love for childcare

• Previous experience in a nursery, childcare, or similar setting (minimum 6 months)

• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles

• Punctual and dependable with excellent communication skills

• Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions carefully

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or in a nursery environment

• Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for a new one

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare

• Willingness to learn and develop skills within a supportive team
