SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Bexley

We are currently working with a primary school based in Bexley seeking a committed SEN Speech and Language Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has a genuine passion for working with children.

This is a long-term maternity cover role, ideal for an inspirational and highly motivated Teaching Assistant with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour. Experience working with SEN students within a specialist education setting is preferred.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team dedicated to providing children with the opportunities they need to make outstanding progress in all areas of their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish a safe, organised, and stimulating environment that fosters curiosity, independence, and celebrates pupils’ achievements

• Adhere to all school safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of safety and following best practice regarding health and safety

• Be aware of and implement students’ care plans, supporting their learning and development effectively

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or Teaching Assistant qualification

• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

• Experience working with SEN students in a classroom environment

• Strong classroom skills with the ability to create a positive learning atmosphere

• Excellent communication skills
